On Friday 13th Mill Hill Golf Club ran the Fright Night golf competition followed by food and a karaoke.
The evening was a great success with 78 runners playing two separate competitions over 7 holes on the front and back nine. Each team of 3 players (Texas Scramble) had 4 flashing disco balls that flash for 5 minutes after being struck and there were glow sticks on the flags.
It really was a great fun evening even though the wind was howling and there were a few spits of rain. The competition was eventually won by the ladies team of Debbie Purdy, Esther Botha and Tracy Beal with an amazing gross score of 1 under par. They were the only team to break par.
The back 9 was won by Lee Cousins, Terry Easter and John Doyle who tied on a gross score of 1 over par but won on handicap.
At about 11.30pm the karaoke also became a great success as nerves had been washed away by beer!
All in all it was a really great evening and we look forward to round 2 in the spring.
